The 2011 Rookie draft is finally upon us!
I would like to welcome both Mark and Michael to our league and say great job by you all in getting the word out so that we could fill our last spots. I would also like to thank Jerry and Jason for all their hard work this past week in prepping the game file and contracts sheet. They should be avialable shortly as we finish up with the new owners and a few compliance issues. When you do receive them it is your responsibility to check them for inaccuracies and report those to Jerry, Jason, and I.
Please double check your draft picks to make sure that they are correct. There was a frenzy of trading this last weekend as so I might have missed something. Regarding trading, the trading period has closed until the end of the FA draft. Teams may still strike deals to be executed at that time. Be aware, however, that the trade isn't official until is is then posted, verified, and confirmed. There is no limit to the number of rookies you can draft, but at the conclusion of the KRFL season, you must cut to 10. Also, there is no trading of 2011 rookies during the KRFL season.
Instructions for posting and selecting in the draft are in each round's thread. I recommend you frequent the draft rounds often so that if you happen to make an invalid pick, you can fix it before too many other teams pick. I will be monitoring each round, but I cannot do so continuously each. If you happen to see an invalid pick by another owner, please post that (ex. Jimmy Johnson was selected by Bay City at 3.5). If for some reason you can't access the draft during your time slot, you can try shooting me an email to pick for you. Or may arrangements with another owner (like the one you selects after you) to select for you.
Rookie's salaries are determined by where they are selected in the draft. I have it here for easy reference: Round 1 - Selection 1 - 4 === $1.5m Round 1 - Selection 5 - 8 === $1.25m Round 1 - Selection 9 - 12 === $1.0m Round 1 - Selection 13 - 18 === $800k Round 1 - Selection 19 - 24 === $700k Round 2 - Selection 25 - 36 === $600k Round 2 - Selection 37 - 48 === $500k Round 3 === $400k Round 4 === $300k Round 5 === $200k Rounds 6-10 === $100k
We have no cause to wait further as the game file and spreadsheet really don't bear upon the rookie draft. If you have any questions at all please don't hesitate to ask.
Good luck to all of you. I hope you have a bountiful draft. With that, CAROLINA IS ON THE CLOCK!
Ralph
